Brookes, Sheila J., et al. (2006). “Building successful home visitor–mother relationships and reaching program goals in two Early Head Start programs: A qualitative look at contributing factors.” Early Childhood Research Quarterly 21.1: 25-45

Motivation for inclusion:

Brookes et al. analyzed an ethnography of an Early Head Start program, which involved prolonged engagement with nine families and their associated service providers for five years. Interestingly, they found that home visitor conscientiousness as well as visitor/mother match in terms of personality and personal history seemed to have particularly positive influences on effectiveness. This is inspiring: how can this aspect be measured?
