Chinwendu Ukachukwu is a pharmacist in Lagos, Nigeria with passion for adolescent health focusing on non-communicable diseases. Having worked in the Boko Haram-insurgent North, she advocates for better mental health services to people in emergency settings. She’s a mental health advocate who believes also that an adolescent is as vulnerable as child. Her mantra is “adolescents are not small adults, this should be borne in mind in their prevention and treatment protocols”. She believes more voices, advocacies, sensitization and education need to be given to adolescent health – and especially mental health.
She is passionate about regulation of advertisements and exposure of young people to risk factors of NCDs.
